Amandla Elanga Renewables is an Independent Power Producer (IPP) dedicated to driving the development, construction and operation of utility-scale renewable energy projects in Zimbabwe. With a strong commitment to sustainability and a vision for a greener future, our company aims to make a significant contribution to Zimbabwe’s renewable energy sector.
Our Story
Over the years, Zimbabwe has struggled with a persistent power deficit, resulting in prolonged load-shedding periods, adversely affecting the economy. Amandla Elanga Renewables recognised the need for a sustainable solution. Our company was established with the aim of introducing cutting-edge renewable energy technologies into the country's existing energy mix. The projects we build are designed to generate clean electricity while concurrently reducing carbon emissions.
The projects we develop have an efficient development and construction process, ensuring swift implementation while offering a long operational lifespan of at least 25 years. We aim to work closely with local stakeholders, fostering strategic partnerships to shape Zimbabwe's greener, more sustainable future. Through prioritising the well-being of the nation, our projects seek to provide electricity to meet the growing energy demands.

Through developing and constructing these projects, we envision a transformed energy landscape in Zimbabwe, characterised by a diversified and environmentally conscious power generation portfolio. Our commitment to renewable energy aligns with the country's developmental aspirations, promoting economic growth, social welfare, and a cleaner, more sustainable future for all.

Our Project
The proposed 20MWp solar farm in Bindura aims to generate clean electricity, which contributes towards powering residential homes, businesses and the agricultural sector. By harnessing the power of the sun, the project will play a crucial role in reducing carbon emissions, offsetting an estimated 32,461tCo2 of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually and significantly contributing to environmental preservation.

This solar farm project aims to bring about transformative change by providing 10,600 homes with a consistent and sustainable energy source. This project is not just about generating electricity; it's about empowering the local community. By developing and constructing this project, we aim to create a positive impact through:

-
Powering economic growth: Access to electricity is crucial for economic development. With a stable and abundant energy supply, businesses can flourish, attracting investments, creating jobs, and stimulating economic growth.

-
Improving education: A stable electricity supply will enable schools to function efficiently, providing a conducive learning environment for students. Access to technology and modern teaching aids will enhance educational opportunities for young minds.

-
Enhancing healthcare services: Reliable electricity is vital for healthcare facilities. It powers medical equipment, refrigeration for vaccines and medicines, and ensures uninterrupted care for patients.

-
Empowering agriculture: the agricultural sector will receive a tremendous boost with the availability of electricity for irrigation systems, post-harvest processing, and storage facilities, ultimately increasing agricultural productivity and food security.

-
Fostering Environmental Sustainability: by transitioning to renewable energy, we reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower greenhouse gas emissions, mitigating the effects of climate change and preserving the natural beauty of Zimbabwe for generations to come.
